Cerec Crowns

What Is Cerec?

Cerec is a type of crown that can be made in the same day that you come in to have the tooth prepped for the restoration. This prevents the need for two appointments, with the second one being placing the permanent crown. Cerec crowns are just as durable and long-lasting as other types. We make them in our office using digital impressions of your teeth for a comfortable, realistic fit.

Why Is Cerec Needed?

The reason you might need a Cerec crown is because a tooth is damaged, severely decayed or has recently been root canaled. The crown not only improves the look of the tooth, but it prevents further damage to it as well. Crowns are one of the most common restorations placed in the world. They are made for each individual patient, so you’ll benefit from a crown that looks and feels completely natural.

Who Is A Candidate For Cerec?

Most of our patients are good candidates for Cerec crowns. These crowns can be placed over virtually any tooth within the mouth. The crown is made just for you in our office, so there is no second appointment involved. This even eliminates the step of having to have a temporary crown placed and then removed.

What Happens During The Cerec Procedure?

The Cerec crown procedure begins by shaping and filing down the damaged tooth. Once the tooth is perfectly shaped, we take digital impressions of it and the surrounding area. We use these impressions to make your brand new Cerec crown in our office. You will wait in the office comfortably while the crown is made, preventing the need for a second appointment. The crown is then placed over the abutment tooth and firmly adhered to the area. You can expect the new crown to last for many years and provide you with a full and healthy smile that you can feel confident in showing off.
